Andrew Michael Skinner, 30, shot another driver after her vehicle drifted into his lane of traffic, cutting him off along Interstate 76 East near the New Stanton Toll booth, on Sunday afternoon, according to state police.
After he was cut off, Skinner "accelerated up to the left side of the victim's vehicle while traveling eastbound. Skinner brandished a firearm and shot a single bullet from his vehicle into the vehicle of the victim," the police report states.
He did not stop, instead he continued eastbound until police located and apprehended him based on information from the victim, according to police.
The police were called to the shooting along the Pennsylvania turnpike near mile marker 74 in Westmoreland County around 2:19 p.m., the release states.
The victim, an unidentified 38-year-old woman sustained one gunshot wound to her abdomen, according to the release on Monday by police.
Skinner was charged with attempted homicide and other offenses, additional information on his charges was not immediately available on Monday morning.
The victim's condition has also not been released.
